SHERWOOD PARK, AB: Windsor Plywood - Sherwood Park, a building supply and home improvement store serving Sherwood Park and the surrounding area, attended and exhibited at the Supply-Build Canada Building & Hardware Showcase. This showcase featured some of the biggest suppliers for the building material industry in Western Canada.
Supply-Build Canada is the national association for the building supply industry in Canada; it has been serving the industry for over 135 years, and has been hosting trade shows for decades, well before it was rebranded to Supply-Build Canada. This year, the Building & Hardware Showcase spanned over 104,000 square feet, featured over 2,500 exhibitors, and took place at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Windsor Plywood - Sherwood Park took an innovative approach to its trade show marketing for the event. The team built a doghouse from supplies that the store offers for sale, and then gave attendees the opportunity to play with adoptable puppies.
“The Building & Hardware Showcase is one of the best networking opportunities in the building supply industry,” said Colin McColl, owner of Windsor Plywood - Sherwood Park. “The opportunity to meet suppliers and make new connections is incredibly important to us. People outside the industry might not realize how innovative it is; there are constantly new building materials and tools coming onto the market, and new techniques with which to use them. This expo gave us the opportunity to meet new suppliers, shore up relationships with existing suppliers, and make and strengthen the connections that allow us to offer our customers high-quality building supplies at competitive prices.”
